Ethiopia , the land of Wonders

Ethiopia is a country of endless diversity and a land of contrasts and extremes; a land of remote and wild places. Some of the highest and most stunning places on the African continent are found here, such as the jaggedly carved Simien Mountains, one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites - and some of the lowest, such as the hot but fascinating Danakil Depression, with its sulphur fumaroles and lunar-like landscape.

Ethiopia is old beyond imagination, dating to the very beginning of mankind, land of wonder and enchantment. The magnificence of the country is inspiring. Ethiopia's Lake Tana, source of Blue Nile, Great Rift Valley lakes, many with national parks, home to a wealth of bird and animal life. The high rugged, simian mountain in the north and the Bale Mountains in the south-west are also home of some unique wild life, and ideal for trekking whilst some of Ethiopia's fast flowing rivers are becoming famous for white water rafting. In such a diverse landscape the rugged terrain produces some of the most spectacular scenery in Africa.
